From Lihue Airport to Kiahuna Plantation

Distance: 12-13 miles (approximately 25 minutes)

Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Exit Airport: Take Ahukini Road from Lihue Airport
  2. First Stoplight: Continue straight through first stoplight (toward the mountains)
  3. Highway 56: Continue about 1 mile until you reach Highway #56 (Kuhio Highway) - Turn LEFT
  4. To Koloa: Follow Kuhio Highway southwest for about 6.6 miles toward Koloa Town
  5. Koloa Town: Turn right on main street as you enter Koloa Town
  6. Poipu Road: Proceed about 1/2 to full block and turn LEFT onto Poipu Beach Road at the Chevron Station
  7. Beach Resort Area: Follow Poipu Road toward the ocean (about 1 mile)
  8. Turn-Around: Enter the turn-around, veer right and take the THIRD EXIT (Poipu Beach Parkway)
  9. Kiahuna Entrance: Continue 1/2 mile past lava rock sign - ignore FIRST entrance, use SECOND entrance
  10. Final Turn: Turn RIGHT at second lava rock "Kiahuna Plantation" sign
  11. Check-In: Follow signs to small office on right at bottom of hill

Alternative Route via Tree Tunnel:

  1. Take Kaumualii Highway (Hwy 50) southeast from Lihue for approximately 7 miles
  2. Turn left onto Maluhia Road (the famous Tree Tunnel)
  3. Turn left onto Ala Kinoiki Road and continue until Poipu Road
  4. Turn right onto Poipu Road, then left just after Kaneiolouma Heiau
