From Lihue Airport to Kiahuna Plantation
Distance: 12-13 miles (approximately 25 minutes)
Step-by-Step Directions:
- Exit Airport: Take Ahukini Road from Lihue Airport
- First Stoplight: Continue straight through first stoplight (toward the mountains)
- Highway 56: Continue about 1 mile until you reach Highway #56 (Kuhio Highway) - Turn LEFT
- To Koloa: Follow Kuhio Highway southwest for about 6.6 miles toward Koloa Town
- Koloa Town: Turn right on main street as you enter Koloa Town
- Poipu Road: Proceed about 1/2 to full block and turn LEFT onto Poipu Beach Road at the Chevron Station
- Beach Resort Area: Follow Poipu Road toward the ocean (about 1 mile)
- Turn-Around: Enter the turn-around, veer right and take the THIRD EXIT (Poipu Beach Parkway)
- Kiahuna Entrance: Continue 1/2 mile past lava rock sign - ignore FIRST entrance, use SECOND entrance
- Final Turn: Turn RIGHT at second lava rock "Kiahuna Plantation East Entrance " sign
- Check-In: Follow signs to small office on right at bottom of hill, Unit will be #40 in building #8
Alternative Route via Tree Tunnel:
- Take Kaumualii Highway (Hwy 50) southeast from Lihue for approximately 7 miles
- Turn left onto Maluhia Road (the famous Tree Tunnel)
- Turn left onto Ala Kinoiki Road and continue until Poipu Road
- Turn right onto Poipu Road, then left just after Kaneiolouma Heiau
